About

So, who am I?

I am Lesley Mitchell, a Scot and an Independent Celebrant now living in the beautiful countryside of Kent close to the Pilgrim’s Way. I am the Mum of four grown up children with four grandchildren. I was brought up in Southern Africa, have spent most of life in Aberdeen but have relocated to be nearer my family. Before training as a Celebrant I ran two successful florist shops. I love flowers and the gardening. I am a Rotarian and love helping out at events. Give me a yellow jacket and I am happy! I love walking in the hills or on a sandy beach and I love snorkelling (but in a warm ocean).

I love hearing your stories

I love hearing your stories and what makes you the person you are. I have experienced a lot of life’s ups and downs coming out the other side stronger and still happy. For your wedding I want to plan every step of the way with you. From how you met, to how your heart flips when you hear their voice or see them walking towards you. How they are the first person you think of in the morning and the last one before you close your eyes at night.

Based in Godmersham, I can conduct your ceremony anywhere in Kent, in London or any of the surrounding counties. I love driving and travelling and finding new places. I have also conducted weddings in Scottish Castles and on tropical islands – in Fiji where I had the privilege of performing a Ceremony for my niece.

I am a member of the Fellowship of Professional Celebrants

For any event, your wedding, your vow renewal, your baby naming or the funeral of a loved one, let me help you to make it your own and include everything you would like in your Ceremony.

I want to get to know you.

Wedding, Crathes Castle in Deeside

Thank you so much for the beautiful service you did for us at Crathes Castle in Deeside. I had dreamed about this day for so long and you suggesting that Mum walked me down the aisle was a wonderful touch and she was thrilled. The regal surroundings, the music you suggested and your spoken words telling our story had the assembled group spellbound from the moment I walked in and saw Stewart waiting for me.

Many of the assembled guests had not seen a Quaich Ceremony and it was just perfect.

Thank you once again.

Wedding, Raemoir House, Banchory

Thank you so much for the lovely service you did for us on Friday at Raemoir House. With both of us having been married before we wanted this to be small and intimate but with a bit of humour and you managed to fulfil all that and more. All the guests said that they had never been to such a personal service. One couple said they would certainly want the same for themselves when they marry. You kept us all calm with nothing to worry about and everything was timed to perfecting so that we could all enjoy the day.
